Hello dearies! (◍•ᴗ•◍)♬
So I'd like to share two main topics on this entry:
♔1. Facebook
I joined the dark side and got myself –– facebook.
I must admit that I made that account mainly to stalk people (Reika is a goddess), but I also want to connect with people and share some of my work. So if you want to follow me there as well, just
click on the picture below and you'll find my facebook page! I'm still not very familiar with everything since I never had a fb account before, but
it'd be really nice if you'd support me there too!
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
You'll find there: Work in Progress photos ♦ Convention impressions & reviews ♦ Cosplayphotos of me & my friends
The
difference between my
facebook page and
tumblr cosplay page are the details:
My facebook page is meant to be an overview of my work and the WIPs with
focus on sharing & connecting with people, while my
tumblr will have
more detailed posts about how I did what, inspiration and tutorials that I have either made myself or found & reblogged. So full dose of self- & cosplay stuff centered josy is found on tumblr, while I suggest my facebook page to like/follow if you don't have too much time to spare and really just want to have a short overview of what's going on. I will also always link the longer post of tumblr (if there is one) on the shorter at facebook, so in case you want to know anything more about a specific post, you can do so by just one click.
So yeah, hope to see you on either one of those pages! ( •ॢ◡-ॢ)-♡
♔2. Ophelia
As some of you might already know,
Tinsch &
Rhea came by from Berlin last month and
we had a photoshoot together that centered around a self-written epilog of Shakespeare's 'Hamlet'. A
summary of our epliog goes like this: in the original Ophelia was written as a character that embodies love and purity. She loved Hamlet and her family very dearly and never bothered too much with affairs of state, so when her father died, insanity started to take its effect on her and in the end swallowed her whole when she found out, that it was in fact Hamlet who killed her father. Not being able to process the tragedy and betrayal, she drowned herself in the river. Now in our epilog she did not just simply die – her feelings for Hamlet – love, ignorance of reality and sehnsucht after(?) the times they once had – kept lingering in this world and she could just not let go. Unable to leave the water she killed herself in, she can do nothing but to sing her sorrow and wishes into the world, in hopes that her fairy tale prince will come and save her. And indeed it seems like he's coming every now and then, but everytime they embrace, he vanishes and leaves nothing but white bones and a red trail in the waters.
In her on-going insanity Ophelia did not realize that her body and mind withered over the ages; that she turned herself into a restless swamp nymph. Neither did she understand that it was never Hamlet that came for her – it was always some poor boy that followed her lovely voice and got killed and devoured by her until there was nothing left but bones. Ophelia is condemned to an eternal search for her beloved Hamlet without ever finding what she longs for.
It's quite the tragic story, but I like it a lot.
Rhea posed as my charming prince & victim, while I had the role of the lovely Ophelia. It was also Rhea who did most of my make-up and our lovely assistents Izumi & flippi are also worth to mention – everyone did a great job and I had a blast that weekend. I am not completely satisfied with my performance there, but there are more pics upcoming and man, i just had such a wonderful time.
I wanted to share some of the photos that are on already, but as I said: more's to come!
Enjoy and see you next time! (▰˘◡˘▰)
